"Wasa Wisa Nethi Jathika Pola" A Toxin-Free Nation, a National Exhibition to promote organic foods and organic farming was ended recently in Sri Lanka. This was the firsts ever National Exhibition which was held to promote safe agricultural practices and organic farming in Sri Lanka.

Without bold and immediate action the negative effects of climate change and the warming of the planet threatens to put prosperity out of reach of millions and slow down decades of development.

Young Inventors Tharindu Madhawa Premathilake, Kavya Rasanjalee Liyanage and Thisarau Aparna from Thakshila College, Horana have won 1st place for their project, “Developing a new technique to minimize the impact on stream fish in streams with modified high velocities”. This Project, Investigates the Effect of stream flow velocity variations on stream fish. Over the last decade the development of mini hydropower projects has been one of the most active areas of the energy sector. One of the main environmental challenges faced by such projects is related to fish.
