175 People Killed in Kashmir Floods

According to reports 175 people reported to be killed by massive floods in the region of Kashmir. This is the worst flooding there in 60 years has submerged villages and ruined crops. State of Kashmir has been divided since shortly after independence from British rule and partition in 1947 created the separate states of India and Pakistan.

According to reports 189 people have been injured in California after a magnitude 6.0 earthquake hit near Napa Valley Sunday. This was the largest quake hit in the bay area since 6.9 Prieta quake in 1989.

Mt Etna eruption disrupts flights to Sicily

Flights into and out of the Italian city of Catania have been disrupted by the eruption of Mt Etna, Europe’s most active volcano.

Catania airport remained open but two air space corridors were temporarily closed on Monday, resulting in delays and disruptions for tourists trying to reach Sicily.
