Shenzhen City in Southern China hits with landslides

The city is one of China's biggest and is a major industrial center. It is situated in the southern province of Guangdong, across the mainland border from Hong Kong.
More than 900 worker were Evacuated, the disaster as been record as the worst landslide in 30 years where many factories collapsed.

The time has come to acknowledge that national interests are best served by acting in the global interest. Nature is sending urgent signals .People and countries are threatened as never before. We have to do as science dictates we must protect the planet that sustains us. For that, we need all hands on deck.

The young people were attending the UN climate change conference, COP 21 demanding that world leaders sign on to an ambitious agreement to tackle climate issues.  Today’s event was participated by youth leaders coming from risk areas due to the impacts of climate change.

With the objective to achieve a legally binding universal agreement on climate change, from all the nations of the world,the twenty-first session of the Conference of the Parties (COP) and the eleventh session of the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (CMP) will take place from 30 November to 11 December 2015, in Paris, France.This conference marks a important milestone in the history of UN climate change negotiations, as the main objective of this year‘s conference is to achieve, a binding and universal agreement on climate, from all the nations of the world, for the first time in over 20 years of UN negotiations.

Africa's population currently stands at 1.13Billion people according to The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). It is projected to rise by another billion by the year 2100. With such a big population, environmental stress is expected and so are environmental issues. The United Nations puts illiteracy level in Africa to be 38 percent. With such a large portion of the continent's population unable to read and write, it is necessary that information passed to the general Population is able to be understood by both types of people, the illiterate and the literate. There still exists a challenge in reaching these people; poverty levels are still high in Africa. Many poor people in the rural parts of Africa have access to radio as it is the main means through which they receive information. Broadcast media holds the key to educating people at the grassroots level on Natural Resource Management since the poor are most vulnerable to environmental disasters yet
they're the most exploitative on these natural resources.
