UN Preparing Young Developing Country Professionals to Lead Climate Action

The fellowship initiative will offer work experience in a vibrant international policy environment at the UN Climate Change Secretariat (UNFCCC). The United Nations University Institute for Environment and Human Security (UNU-EHS) will help identify and recruit the young professionals, and provide them with an exciting research environment.

South-South Cooperation Crucial for Global Goals and Climate Action

A new report highlighting the role of South-South Cooperation in sustainable development and climate change challenges was launched today at the UN Climate Change Conference SB46 (to 18 May) in Bonn.

The report, called “Catalyzing the Implementation of Nationally Determined Contributions in the Context of the 2030 Agenda through South-South Cooperation,” was created in a joint effort by the United Nations Executive Office of the Secretary-General, and the Secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

Climate change is costing lives particularly in poor and vulnerable countries – Says LDC Chair

Nations Meet in Bonn to Take Forward Guidelines for Fully Implementing Paris Agreement

In a next round of UN climate change negotiations, nations are meeting from 8 – 18 May 2017 to further develop the guidelines needed to fully implement the landmark 2015 Paris Climate Change Agreement now and over the decades to come.
