Bird Sanctuaries In Urban Areas
Colombo wetlands have played a major role to preserve the environment.
Therefore as an initiative the Ministry of environment and Natural Resources took several steps to protect the wet-lands inside Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The minister expressed that the wet-lands have been destructed due to development, but we have managed to protect it. He expressed this issue at the opening of Baddegana, Kotte Bird Sanctuary. He further said that eco corridors will be set up to protect the Bio Diversity and eco systems. This project was initiated under the Eco-Circular Program.
