Life Sustaining Bio Diversity Is In Peril - Says UN
In his message UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon
stated that species are becoming extinct
at the fastest rate ever recorded.
He expressed his views in his message for the World Environment Day 2010,
further the Director General to the UN stated
that these extinctions takes place due to human activities that are polluting and depleting water resources, changing and degrading habitats and altering the global climate.
World Environment day for 2010 is celebrated under the theme of “Many Species, One World, and One Future”.
