An extensive number of aftershocks
were recorded in Christchurch and surrounding areas
in New Zealand since Saturday’s 7.1magnitude earthquake struck around 4.35am, According to Civil Defense Ministry aftershocks up to 5.4 magnitudes hit Christchurch today.
The New Zealand Earthquake Commission has received 4,857 claims of damage to residential properties so far. The Government of New Zealand has restored 95% of power in the area.
