Gray Whales In Danger
Critically endangered gray whales
are facing danger due to the degradation
of feeding habitats
due to the research activities conducted by Roseneft Company. Many scientists, NGO’s and 12 governments have already appealed against the activities of Roseneft, which affected the feeding areas of these species.
Rosneft started their activities last month near Sakhalin Island even though a small number of western gray whales mothers and calves were feeding in the area. Only an estimated 130 western North Pacific grey whales are left in the world, with around 30 breeding females.
