2600 Sambuddha Jayanthi Celebrations
Ministry of Environment of Sri Lanka
will be organizing awareness programs
on conserving our natural resources
to commemorate the 2600 Sambuddha Jayanthi .
The celebration which is to commemorate the 2600 enlightenment of Lord Buddha, Ministry of Environment will be organizing awareness programs under the subject Buddhism and Environment. The programs will consists of saplings of Bo trees, 20 educational programs island wide and protecting flora and fauna sanctuaries. Speaking to Media Minister of Environment Anura Priyadarshana Yapa express that the Ministry of Environment hopes to deliver the message of saving the environment to the world at this year’s commemorations of 2600 Sambuddha Jayanthi .
