India To Launch National Environment Regulator
According to reports Indian government will launch an independent environmental regulator
tasked to enhance environmental protection.
This was announce yesterday by the Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh, Speaking at a conference in Delhi yesterday, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said the new National Environment Appraisal and Monitoring Authority (NEAMA) would aim to take controversial planning decisions out of the hands of ministers.
