World Environment Day 2012
World Environment Day is an annual event that has come to be one of the biggest and most widely celebrated global days for positive environmental action.
World Environment Day celebrations began in 1972 and have become the one of the main vehicles the UN uses to stimulate worldwide environmental awareness and encourage political attention and action. This year world environment day is been celebrated under the theme of Green Economy. Meanwhile the national event of Sri Lanka is underway at the Royal College Colombo with the presence of Minister of Environment Anura Priyadharshana Yapa.
