A heavy rainstorm in Toronto, Canada, causes sudden flooding resulting in stranded commuters and power cuts.

A low pressure trough is expected to cross southern Ontario, including Toronto. Strong thunderstorms, torrential downpours, hail and wind are all possibilities.

Toronto Hydro said 70,000 customers in the west end are now without power, up from 20,000 reported late Tuesday morning, due to lack of power supply. Rolling blackouts will be conducted in four areas in order to conserve energy.
