Elephant March To Demand To Capture Wild Elephants
A massive protest was held today by elephant owners demanding authorities capture wild pachyderms from the jungle to boost the dwindling number of the animals in temples.
Elephant owners walked through to the Wild Life Department in Colombo along with their elephants today.They demanded authorities to capture wild elephants and tame them for our cultural purposes in the country. Meanwhile Environmentalists states that this protests is a complete violation of guidelines of for the safety and welfare of elephants in captivity.
