Greenpeace- India Can Do More
Lima, 09 december. In response to the speech from Indian Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Prakash Javadekar, Greenpeace Senior Campaigner for Renewable Energy, Abhishek Pratap.
India can absolutely do more on its 100 GW clean energy target. Last month, China and the US announced plans to address their emissions after 2020. Now, it’s India’s turn to make a similar announcement for the sake of future generations.
By the first quarter of next year, India must implement a concrete plan that includes a phase out of coal, a timeline of 2025 and massively scales up its share of renewable energy to reduce its rising emissions.
