Land Excavations Tense Divulapitiya Development Committee
Divulapitiya Development Committee was in tense after questioning on land excavations threatening the Environment in the area. The Deputy Minister Ranjan Ramanayake stated that the people are facing lot of issues due to land excavations taking place in the Divulapitiya area.
This people have lost water, agriculture harvest and people are facing land degradation, soil erosion in the area. The situation escalated with the intervention of parliamentarian Indika Anuruddha at the meeting saying lot of people have lost’s livelihoods in the area after halting the land excavations and the work needs to recommence to continue the jobs of the people.
