Special Gazette Notification Issued To Protect Four Forests Areas Near Wilpattu Sanctuary
President Maithripala Sirisena signed a special gazette notification declaring Mavillu, Weppal, Karadikkuli,Marichchikadi and Vilaththikulam forests as Mawillu forest Reserve under the 3A of the Forest Conservation Ordinance.
This declaration of four forests as one reserve will protect all forests located near the Wilpattu North Sanctuary belonging to the Department of Forest Conservation.The president signed the special gazette notification during his three day official visit to Russia.
