Ramsar PreCOP 13 Meeting
Asia preparatory meeting for the 13th Conference of the Parties (COP13 Dubai) was held in Chilaw Sri Lanka recently. 28 parties in the Asian region participated for the meeting.
The countries are met to assess progress, opportunities & implementation of the Convention and to review the draft resolutions for COP13. Lew Young, Ramsar advisor for Asia and Oceania stated that mainstream wetland conservation and sustainable use into national policies, such as for sustainable development, climate change, disaster risk reduction and biodiversity conservation.
