200 Elephants Killed In 2018 : Says Department Of Wild Life
According to Wild life department 201 Wild Elephants killed due to man made activities so far. These activities includes poaching, poisoning, electrocution and train accidents.A majority of the elephants died in the Moneragala, Hambantota, Kurunegala and Polonnaruwa Districts. The Department of Wildlife has taken steps to located and apprehend those responsible for killing elephants and they would also be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
