Two Elephants Killed Due To Train Collisions
Two elephants killed and one elephant critically injured on Sunday after colliding on trains while crossing railway tracks. A Jaffna Bound night Train rammed into two elephants at Ambanpola, 150km North of Colombo, killing one and injuring the other.Further a passenger train derailed after hitting and killing an elephant near Palugasweva, 160km away from Colombo. During pasts 5 years 1200 elephants killed in the country through human activities and 375 people killed by elephants.
