Courts To Be Heard The Wilpattu Case On 28 June

The petition filed by conservationists and legal consultant on the prevailing situation of clearing buffer zones of Wilpattu wild life park will be heard on 28th of June. The petition was filed against Minister Rishad Bathiudeen.
The petitioners alleged that the illegal deforestation and constructions carried out within the Wilpattu National Park had caused large-scale environmental damaged. They requested the court to issue a directive to remove the unauthorized constructions and to reclaim the lands back to the government as they are completely unlawful.
