Everyone Should Commit To Implement Environment Laws- President
President Sirisena requested all government officials including politicians must commit to implement laws in protecting the environment. During World Environment day celebrations the president further stated that instructions given to issue a gazette notification in banning important chainsaw machines.
President Sirisena also instructed to halt all new carpentry workshops and provide wood mill owners to provide assistance for other businesses. This year World Environment day was celebrated under the theme reducing the air pollution through sustainable management. President Sirisena invited all stakeholders such as environment scientist, academics, experts, public officials to share their knowledge to make a better future in this country.
