Heat Index To Reach Extreme Caution Level Today
The Natural Hazards Early Warning Center issued a Heat Index Adversary valid for today (02), warning that the Heat Index will reach an extremely cautionary level at some places in North-Western, Western, Sabaragamuwa and Southern Provinces and in Monaragala district.
The caution level records temperatures ranging between 32-41 Celsius degrees. The Department of Meteorology warns that heat cramps and heat exhaustion are possible during the day, while continuing such activity could result in heatstroke. The Department of Meteorology advises the public to avoid outdoor activities and to stay hydrated in order to avoid fatigue and heat cramps.
