Leopard Dies After Rescue Operation Due To Injuries
According to reports the rescued leopard in Maskeliya region died due to the damages caused in internal organs. This was confirmed by director general wildlife department Mr. Chandana Sooriyabandara.
The leopard was trapped in a tree in a land owned by Gatmore Estate in Maskeliya near to Samanala forest reserve . The leopard was saved after 9 hours rescue operation but due to its injuries leopard died after being admitted to veterinary hospital in Minipe. Wildlife department stated that the leopard was stuck in the tree for 2 days before rescued.
