MY World 360° Showcases Calls Creators To Share Their Story And Vision Of A Post-pandemic World
The UN SDG Action Campaign is presenting the latest selection of 8 MY World 360° immersive media along with a new call for creators across the world to share their stories on actions communities have taken to respond to COVID-19.
The eight selected immersive media cover many core issues related to the Sustainable Development Goals: ranging from homelessness in Argentina, to an interactive VR experience of polar warming, to a walk through an LTBQI art community in India, the new MY World 360º playlist reflects priorities and perspectives of emerging creators from around the world. According to Rafael Romão, one of the creators of The Owners We Can’t See, from Brazil, “It is really important we use our efforts to echo the voices of those who experience the problems we want to address.”
The new MY World 360° call invites creators of all ages, countries and languages to submit stories about actions taken by themselves or their communities to make a difference in response to COVID-19, thereby sharing their vision of a post-pandemic world. “The COVID-19 health crisis is affecting people across the planet and across all facets of life. It is also highlighting the importance of solidarity and the impact that our individual actions can have in shaping the world we live in. By capturing these action stories, creators can bring the global community even closer together during these challenging times and inspire SDG action beyond the crisis,” says Marina Ponti, Global Director of the UN SDG Action Campaign.
Recognizing that many people are restricted to move freely in an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19, the 2020 edition of MY World 360° welcomes all types of media that can make a story immersive, from mixed media to new and emerging formats. The call also encourages virtual team work and co-creation across borders, to harness cooperation and collective creativity and ideas. Beginners, emerging and recognized creators can submit their work until 31 August to become part of the MY World 360° selection and to be showcased as part of United Nations digital activations.
