CEJ Demands To Protect Residual Forest
Center for Environmental Justice organization sent a letter of demand yesterday to secretary to Ministry of Environment demanding to protect 5/2001 circular which brought residual forest/other forest under the protection of the forest department.
Executive Director for CEJ Mr.Hemantha Withanage stated that at the moment there is a huge pressure by certain parties to cancel this circular and return those protected areas back to the control of district secretaries and divisional secretaries.
