This morning, a powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 6.6 occurred in the Indian Ocean near North Sumatra. The National Tsunami Early Warning Centre of Sri Lanka has confirmed that, currently, there is no tsunami threat to Sri Lanka resulting from this earthquake.
