Rividhanavi (Pvt) Ltd., a consortium comprising Lakdhanavi Ltd., Windforce PLC, and The Blue Circle Pte Ltd of Singapore, signed the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) today.

Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera said that  it is  a significant stride in the renewable energy landscape of Sri Lanka.

The agreement was endorsed by CEB Chairman Nalinda Illangakoon and LTL Holdings (Pvt) Ltd. Chief Executive Officer Nuhuman Marikkar.

The agreement pertains to the 100 MW Ground Mount Solar project located in Siyambalanduwa.

This endeavour, which has been in the pipeline since its advertisement by the CEB in September 2022, underwent thorough evaluation throughout 2023, Minister Weerasekera said.

At the culmination of the evaluation process, Rividhanavi emerged as the lowest and successful bidder, clinching the project at the end of 2023.

In addition to the solar infrastructure, Rividhanavi (Pvt) Ltd. will undertake the construction of a 27.5 Km transmission line essential for the project’s functionality. Upon completion, the transmission line will be transferred to the CEB, facilitating seamless integration into the national grid.

With an anticipated investment of USD 132 million, the consortium is poised to catalyze substantial progress in Sri Lanka’s renewable energy sector.
