Sri Lanka celebrated World Earth Day 2013 today joining over one billion people over 192 countries today.

Founded in United States of America in 1970 on April 22, this year the event was co-ordinate by Earth Day Network under the theme “Winning the Climate Changes”. The main event in Sri Lanka was held this morning at the Battaramulla Jana kala Kendraya (Folk Art Center), under the patronage of the Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa. A walk too was organized starting from Kimbulawala Junction to the Folk Art Center.
