Gender And Ocean- World Ocean Day
UN Secretary General reveals that “Confronting gender inequality is essential to achieving the ocean-related Goal and targets of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. We must ensure an end to unsafe work conditions and guarantee that women have an equal role in managing ocean-related activities.” He made those comments for World Ocean Day 2019.
The host nation for this event was Fiji this year. World Ocean Day celebrated every year to showcase the major role of Oceans to daily life and to reduce the damage caused to ocean by human actions. World Ocean Day helps world wide communities to get mobilize towards sustainable management of the World’s Oceans.
