National Tree Planting Program Commenced
The National Tree Planting Programme commenced with the dawn of new year today. The event commenced under the patronage President Gotabaya Rajapaksa today.
National tree planting programme aimed to plant 1 million trees across Sri Lanka and the campaign aims to increase the country’s forest cover from 29% – 32% within the next 5 years in Sri Lanka. The campaign was also also outlined in President Rajapaksa’s environment policy manifesto.
