New Species Of Snake Discovered
A new species of reptile Dryocalamus chithrasekarai was discovered from Kanneliya rain forest in Sri Lanka. With the new discovery the number snakes inhabited in the country will go to 105 species.The new species was spotted for the first time during 2009 by the research team. The research team was comprised by Nethu Wickremasinghe, Mendis Wickremasinghe, Dulan Ranga Vidanapathirana and Vishan Pushpamal. According to researchers the species can be found in the areas of Kanneliya forest, Adams peak and forested areas in Deniyaya.
