National Day/ Polish Ambassador Hails Qatar-Poland Relations Of Cooperation

HE the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to the State of Qatar Janusz Janke highlighted the existing cooperation and partnership between the two countries in various fields and their keenness to consolidate and develop them, pointing out that 2020 was a wonderful year for the bilateral relations between Doha and Warsaw despite the coronavirus pandemic.

HE the Ambassador added, in a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the occasion of Qatar’s National Day, that by 2019, the annual volume of Polish-Qatari trade reached $ 852.4 million.
Meanwhile, Qatar’s export to Poland stood at $750.1 million, consisting mainly of LNG, he said, stating that Poland’s export to Qatar was very diverse and stood at a record level of $102.3 million. He revealed that the leading products groups included: mechanical and electrical devices, agricultural products and various types of furniture.
He underlined the official launch of the Qatar-Poland Business Council on Nov. 9, 2020, to facilitate the growth of trade and investment between both countries, which was preceded by a business forum entitled “Polish-Qatari virtual roundtable” organized by the Polish Embassy in cooperation with the Qatar Financial Center, Qatari Businessmen Association and the Qatar Free Zone Authority. He pointed out that the event took the form of a videoconference with parallel in-person networking meetings, and the sectors were divided into four, which they see as very promising: energy & IT, aviation, finance & banking, as well as research, development & innovation. He explained that the event provided a platform for more than 60 Polish and Qatari business to network and exchange ideas.
HE the Polish Ambassador congratulated the leadership, government and people of Qatar on the National Day, wishing them prosperity and wellbeing.
He continued by saying, “I would like to congratulate the State and its citizens for setting an extraordinary example of commitment, professionalism, and solidarity during these unprecedented times of the pandemic. I am genuinely convinced that the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic has strengthened Qatar as a nation and confirmed its place amongst the world’s most developed and prosperous countries.”
He said that the coronavirus outbreak constituted a global challenge and demanded immediate epidemiological, social and economic action to reduce its impact, stressing that in this unpredictable, ever changing environment, effective cooperation between Qatari authorities on one hand, and the citizens and residents on the other provided the necessary stability and a feeling of safety.
Members of the Polish community in Qatar are particularly grateful for that, he said.
HE Ambassador Janke concluded his statement to QNA by saying, “due to the important learning experience related to the 2017 blockade, the State of Qatar has not only successfully mitigated the economic impact of the pandemic but also has been lending a helping hand to other nations on all continents.”
