New Chairman Appointed For The Post-Harvest Institute Of Technology

Mr. Chandrasoma Peiris has been appointed as the new chairman of the Post-Harvest Institute of Technology which comes under the Ministry of Agriculture and Plantation Industries. The new chairman was appointed by the Minister of Agriculture and Plantation Industries, Mahinda Amaraweera.
Chandrasoma Peiris is a special grade officer in the Agriculture Servi previously served as the Director General (Technology) of the Ministry of Agriculture.
The letter related to the appointment was handed over to the new chairman by the Minister of Agriculture, and the minister instructed the new chairman to reactivate the currently inactive fruit and vegetable processing zones countrywide as well as to further activate the programme currently implemented to minimize post-harvest wastage.
