No Approvals For Clearing Of Forest Around Wilpattu- Forest Department

Forest Department informed today that there will be no further approvals to clear land in the borders of Wilpattu Forest Reserve.

This was informed by Director General of the Forest Department today at the court of appeal.  The case was filed by Center for Environmental Justice to prevent further settlements near the forest reserve.  Court case will be taken up again on the 31st of this month.
