C.E.A To Celebrate 30 Years
A Media briefing was held today at the Central Environment Authority, Sri Lanka,
to brief about the 30th anniversary of Central Environment Authority.
Minister of Environment Anura Priyadarshana Yapa was also present for the occasion and discussed about the progress of Pilisaru Project which was started by the CEA 2008, he further said that investigations are underway about the recent forest fires in the country, while carrying awareness programs for the villagers who resides near forestry areas. Speaking at the event, Chairman of Central Environment Authority Mr.Charitha Herath stated that National Green Award Ceremony will be launched in August 2011, prior to the celebrations. Mr.Herath further said that awards will be awarded continuously every year for the entrepreneurs who worked for environment protection and conservation.
