
SL Marks The First’s Anniversary Of Signing The Paris Agreement

Numerous communities celebrate Earth Week, an entire week of activities focused on the environmental issues that the world faces.
In 2017, the March for Science occurs on Earth day. Earth Day was firsts celebrated in 1970 where 190 countries each year organize many environment events coordinated with the Earth day network. Today marks the first’s anniversary of signing the Paris Agreement by the Government of Sri Lanka. The 2017 Earth day was celebrated under the theme of Environment and Climate Literacy. Therefore the Climate Change Secretariat of the Ministry of Mahaweli Development and Environment Sri Lanka organized a workshop for journalists on climate change induced unprecedented to planet earth for media community. The event was graced by many journalists working in print and electronic media in Sri Lanka.
