Strong Winds Along The Coastal Line
Met Department states that strong winds could experience in the coastal areas within the next 72 Hours. Heavy showers will occur at times in the Bay of Bengal to the north-east and east of the island.
Sea areas in the Bay of Bengal to North-east and east of the island and southern sea areas can be rough at times as the wind speed can increase up to 60-70 kmph. The sea area off the coast extending from Negambo to Trincomalee via Kankasanturai and the sea area off the coast extending from Mathara to Kalmunai via Hambanthota and Pottuvil can be rough at times as the wind speed can increase up to 60 to 70 kmph. Met department requests Naval and fishing communities to be vigilant in this regards.
