Fatih Mika lectured Engraving Techniques and Graphic Art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, the Foggia Academy of Fine Arts and the Venice Academy of Fine Arts. He currently holds a “Engraving Techniques” class of the Florence Fine Arts Academy, attended by students from all over the world.
The artist continues his work in his atelier in Rome, has held more than 70 solo exhibitions and participated in more than 100 collective exhibitions. Also, he took part in several important Biennials and Terminals all over the world. The artist, who has organized workshops worldwide, will meet for the first time with Qatari art lovers at Katara Cultural Village on 2/14 September 2018.
The curator Beste Gursu explains the exhibition “Fatih Mika and the Endless Entrust”, already performed in Brussels, Sarajevo and Belgrade in this way: “Fatih Mika smiles when asked about the difficulty of engraving art. His drawing, or rather his expression on metal, does not only refer to nature in a visual way, but aims to tell the essence and even the touch of a leaf, a flower or a shell. The artist wants to instill these feelings in the paper and find again the deep meaning of little things choosing very modest subjects, like a grain of sand, and using simple tools.
