President Instructs To Obtain Forces For Relief Operations
Heavy rain has left out 45,000 people stranded at the moment in Sri Lanka. Several areas in southern province are flooded at the moment. All passengers was warned to put headlights while traveling on high ways due to heavy rain. Passengers coming to air port was announced to be in the premises before 3 hours of scheduled time of departure.
President Sirisena instructed the relevant officials to obtain the assistance of the armed forces in relief operations. As it was foretasted the weather is expected to continue for another two more months. President Sirisena explained importance of working strategically with the coordination of all sectors and relevant ministries to face the situation.
