More Rain Expected
According to Disaster Management Center 588014 persons
and more than 157738 families have been affected due to floods
in Polonnaruwa, Batticaloa and Ampara districts.
1207 families are currently being kept in 18 IDP camps, Reports further indicates that 669 houses have been destroyed while damaging 2631 houses partially.
18 camps have been set up in these districts while heavy rain is expected to continue in many areas in Sri Lanka
