Speaking at the event Patron founder member of Ruk Rakaganno Ms.Irangani Serasinghe
stated that caring for forest and nature was the main initiativeof the organization from the started.
She reminded the great moments on how environment was protected by the organization from the start in 1975.The seminar also highlighted the planting of native tree species in degraded sites to improve reforestation. Addressing the gathering Eco-Scientists from India Dr.R T Shankar Raman showed how cardomom plantation been improtant for many taxa and showed experiments on how plantationscan be converted to rich eco systems in India.
