RSBA Leads Charge In Global Badminton: Welcomes International Players And Olympic Champions

“With the growing interest among individuals in Sri Lanka and other nations to compete and participate in badminton, the Rising Stars Badminton Academy (RSBA) has taken the initiative to provide international-level training to players of all levels in Sri Lanka,” stated Clarence Homer, the founder and president of RSBA, at a press conference held on the 7th at the academy’s training premises in Kalalgoda, Thalawathugoda.
 
Homer further mentioned, “There is significant interest from foreign badminton players to come to Sri Lanka for training. We already have a considerable number of players from various countries joining our training programs.”
 
He highlighted that RSBA currently employs international badminton coaches and continues to expand its training initiatives, including collaborations with academies abroad for joint training sessions and exchange programs.
 
Homer also announced agreements to host 15-20 Maldivian players every three months for training at the academy.
 
Buwanaka Dullewa, Chief Executive Officer of Rising Stars Badminton Academy, added, “RSBA’s promotional activities and training will soon commence in India and Canada.”
 
“Homer further noted that Prince Dhal, the National Badminton Champion of Nepal, who is currently competing in the Olympic Badminton Tournament, is a product of RSBA’s training program. After the Olympics, he plans to secure an equipment sponsor and then return to RSBA for further training for two years.”
