New Born Rhino In Dehiwala
A Black Rhinoceros cub was born in Dehiwala Zoo last Tuesday (07) which is considered to be vulnerable to endangerment in near future. The Black Rhinoceros (Diceros bicornis) is listed among the top ten threatened species in the red book.
The black rhino pair has been brought to Sri Lanka based upon the exchange programme with Japan in 2007 thus given the same name as ‘Kosala’ and ‘Anula’, the two elephant cubs given to Japan under the same exchange programme.
