More Effects Due To Climate Change In Future

The Minister for Environment and Natural Resources 
Hon.Patali Champika Ranawaka revealed that the public will 
experience more effects due to climate change in future. 

He stated that the people in this world are experiencing severe climatic conditions and everyone should come forward to prevent it. He expresses this view at a seminar on Global warming and Green Economy. This seminar was organized by Ceylon Institute of Builders in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The minister also pointed out that there are 3 limiting factors which will affect sustainable development such as scarcity of resources, environment pollution, technology and science and temperature of 1.5 degrees rising in each year. 
During the event the president of Ceylon Institute of Builders Dr. Rohan Karunarathne stated the importance of builders in creating a green economy. 
Secretary for Ministry of construction Col. Nissanka Wijerathne said that construction of buildings emits more energy and we must construct buildings in an energy efficient way.       

He further stated that harvesting rain water is another object they will be looking at in future. Speaking at the event Engineer Mr.Ranil Gunarathne said 30% of energy is used to construct a building and 60% of energy is used for lighting and A/C
